Jyothi is their beloved daughter who is a very active and fun loving girl, but she is often commented upon because of her dark complexion. Revathy is the daughter of Shanmugaraja’s sister who has lost her parents at young age and is raised by him. She is a very pretty girl and is loved by Shanmugaraja like his own daughter.Revathy and Jyothi are best friends and spend much time together. Arunachalam is Shanmugaraja’s son who suffers a great loss in business.

Abirami is a wealthy woman who comes across the beautiful Revathy and tries to marry her to Prabhu, her mentally retarded son. Due to the financial situation of her family and the ordeal of getting Jyothi married to Abirami’s younger brother Karthik, Revathy marries Prabhu. Her expectations turn to disappoinment when Karthik comes home with his girlfriend. This creates disruption between the relationship of Revathy and Shanmugaraja’s family. The story takes an unexpected twist and turn which ends up in Jyothi’s marriage with Karthik, death of Shanmugaraja and Revathy accused of his death. Revathy endures the evil plans of Abirami and brings Prabhu back to normal life by her persistent effort and belief in him.
Actress Kalyani played the lead role of Revathy and Sayed Anwar has acted as her husband Prabhu. Actress Rachitha Rachu played as Jyothi and Actor Dinesh as Karthick. Anuradha, Rajalakshmi and Udhai too have acted in important characters in this serial. After successful completion of more than 250 episodes in Season 1, Season 2 has been launched based on the good veiwer’s response and to tie up the loose ends of Season 1.
Revathi and Jyothi are brought up together by Shanmuga Rajan, they become thick friends. Shanmugam's son Arunachalam starts a new business and gets into heavy losses. Arunachalam with no other go keeps his hand on office money which was in his custody to pay for the employees. Through the spy camera his acts get immediately known and the police come after him and arrest him. Shamuga Rajan gets unwell due to these happenings is hospitalised and then gets well.
But due to the mounting debts they have leave their house. 
Revathi is taking tution in Abhirami's house and she lets loose a chained boy in that house who disappears. Later he is found in the top floor who comes down on the request of Revathi. Abirami finds the his son is very fond of Revathi and requests her to marry her son. Revathi accepts the offer under the condition that her brother should marry Jyothi. Abhirami accepts the offer and also helps Shanmuga Rajan's family by giving Rs.ten lakhs without revealing her identity.
