You will need the following: A power wire (preferably 4 or 8 gauge) with an inline fuse (typically 50amps) A battery terminal adapter to connect the power wire A signal wire to let the amp know when the stereo is on RCA audio cables to connect the amplifier to your stereo A ground wire for the amplifier (again 4 or 8 gauge preferred) Walmart sells a Scosche kit that has all of the wiring as well as a basic diagram for about $25, but it does not include the battery terminal adapter. If you have a factory stereo you won't have RCA ouputs, so you will need a line level converter.

A basic one like the Scosche SLC4 usually runs in the $20 range. You splice into your speaker wires and run them into the unit, then plug the RCAs into it. Posted on Mar 29, 2009.

Unfortunately, most subwoofers, like the one you're describing, need a separate amplifier. I don't know the model number of what you're working with but most Phlips subwoofers with that connection need an amp. Now, if you have the rest of the system that was originally with the sub then you can scavenge it's amp. But that's tricky if you don't know what you're looking. Craigslist has tons of 'powered' subwoofers that don't require a separate amp and u can therefore use your Sub Preout from the HT receiver. Feb 13, 2016 .

To make sure it's the subwoofer at fault and not the amp, speaker wire, rca's, radio, power, or ground wiring, you should, if possible, hook up a known good subwoofer to see if it works properly. If it doesnt, check fuses, grounds, the remote amp turn on wiring, etc. It could even be something as simple as a setting on the stereo itself. If the substitute subwoofer does work properly, double check to be sure the original sub is wired correctly. Install rtorrent on ubuntu server ssh. If it is, i'm afraid you've got a faulty/bad subwoofer. I hope this helps and good luck! Carrier fb4cnf manual.

Feb 17, 2010 . Hello eric_sodergu, **First thing is verifying that the powerlight is lite up, this shows that it is receiving power and is grounded properly.

**Next thing you need to ensure is that the remote wire is connected properly on both the head unit and the amp. **Third Make sure the RCA wires are all connected properly, try jiggling them around on the amps end to make sure there not just shorting out. **Check all fuses related to the amp to make sure all the channels are working properly. (Applys to amps with multiple channels and fuses) If all these things are fine, then the sub could very well be blown. Did you have it up loud before it stopped working?

You said it was working fine then just went all quiet, did the head unit power down as well? Post back with any further info or questions so that I can assist you further. Jul 17, 2009 . Are you sure the polarity is correct on the sub's connectors? This is very important as reversing them will cause the sub to pound inward instead of out. Make sure the wires are thick enough and that the amp's + connector goes to the red(or +) connector on the sub and that the amp is grounded properly to a clean piece of metal on the car's body.
